WHY BBOC. WHY NOW.
Best Band On Campus launches its 2026–27 Season on October 12. We need your support to bring this opportunity to the BANDS on your campus.
Across the country, college BANDS are writing original songs, rehearsing, filming performances, and fighting to get heard. They need exposure. They need a platform. They need somewhere to build an audience that reaches beyond their next gig.
That is what we’re building—and we made it a contest!
Best Band On Campus combines a national college music network with an original-music competition: BAND profiles, performance videos, FAN communities, MUSICIAN connections, leaderboards, and digital BATTLES—all feeding into the road to college music’s National Championship in Las Vegas.
Here’s how it works:
BANDS join the network and enter the competition. Each competing BAND needs at least two performers, including one currently enrolled college student.
BANDS share their music, grow their following, and submit original-song performances for official digital BATTLES.
FANS discover BANDS and judge performances through scorecards.
BANDS must complete at least 12 of 28 official BATTLES, with their best 10 scores counting toward qualification.
Eight finalists advance to the two-night BBOC Finals in Las Vegas.
And we’re searching for the personalities who will tell the story.
Your campus has people with a microphone, a camera, curiosity, and something to say. Student broadcasters, journalists, interviewers, and aspiring HOSTS can get out into the scene—meet BANDS, ask people who their favorite MUSICIANS are, capture backstage moments, and show us what’s happening.
Your campus. Your camera. Your shot at BBOC TV.
Participants upload footage to their own feeds. Likes and comments help get our attention. BBOC selects footage for channel features and recaps, with selected footage also available for use in the BBOC movie and TV series.
The winning HOST will host or cohost the two-night BBOC Finals in Las Vegas.
That gives your campus MUSICIANS a stage and your emerging on-air personalities a path to hosting it.
And the network keeps going beyond the competition. It gives BANDS a place to keep sharing music, FANS a place to keep discovering it, MUSICIANS a place to find one another, and HOSTS a place to build an audience.
I’m Brett Feinstein. I created Best Band On Campus and shot the first episode at UCSB, where ten BANDS competed in our 2002 live final at Anisq’Oyo Park. Now I’m bringing it back for campuses across the country, 25 years later. This time, you’re the ones shooting it, and I’ve created the network that can now do what I always imagined: connect students through music and help launch careers for everyone involved.
The ambition is bigger this time. So is the need.
Bring us the BANDS you believe deserve a bigger audience. Introduce us to the personalities who can bring your campus music scene to life. Get your students involved as FANS, music discoverers, judges, and HOSTS.
We’re building a national platform. It takes campus communities participating to give it life.
Help us make sure the talent on your campus hears about this while the first chapter is being written.
The College Search Is On. Let’s get your campus heard.
